Hammock Packing List

Mandatory Equipment

  • Hiking boots, or hiking shoes, or good/sturdy athletic shoes

  • 1 pair of socks per day, plus 2 extra pairs

  • 1 extra change of clothes minimum Toothbrush and toothpaste

  • Soap and toiletries

  • Towel Shorts/swimsuits (swimsuits must be 1 piece and modest, or bring dark T-shirt and shorts to cover)

  • Sleeping bag (any style rated to 35 ºF is sufficient) *

  • Sleeping pad *

  • Pillow (this will be left at the Wilderness Base Camp during the trip)

  • Raingear: waterproof raincoat and waterproof pants (Ponchos not recommended) *

  • Fleece/synthetic sweatshirt/jacket (NOT COTTON) *

  • Stocking cap – for sleeping at night *

  • Water bottle - 1 airtight water bottle (preferable 1 liter) *

  • Sunglasses *

Suggested Equipment

  • Backpack (approx 50-65 liters) *

  • Bible

  • Lip Balm

  • Sunscreen Headlamp/Flashlight

  • Knife (must be a locking knife)

  • Bug spray/head-net

  • Any other small survival type gear

  • Gloves, small liner style gloves

Optional Equipment

  • Hammock – Please see the last page for more information about the hammocks

  • Camera

  • Small binoculars

  • Notepad/paper

  • Snack shop money

  • Hiking poles

Every camper will be provided a hammock for the week. The hammocks are waterproof and bug proof. If your camper wants to bring their own hammock for the trip, it will have to be inspected by the Senior Guide.
