Frequently Asked Questions

Below, you will find some answers to frequently asked questions. If you don't see the answer to your question, please send us an email or give us a call. Thanks!

When should I drop off and pick up my camper?

Once you arrive at Solid Rock, you will be directed to the correct drop-off or pick up location for your child.

Please carefully note the drop-off and pick up times for your child's camp. Most camps start at 5:00pm on Sunday with the following exceptions:

  • Midweek camps starting on Wednesday will begin at 3pm

Day Camps are 10am to 4pm.

How does Snackshop work? How much money should I give my child?

Each camper's snackshop money is put on a card that is kept in the camp store. Camper's will have access to the card to spend when the snackshop is open. Unspent funds will be refunded on the closing day of camp if paid for with cash or check.

How much you put on your child's card depends on if you want them to be able to purchase camp swag in addition to snacks. We generally recommend between $25 and $50 for a week-long camp.

What do I need to know about riding the bus?

We offer a bus between Anchorage and Camp. You must have a reservation to ride the bus. Bus rides are not available for Day Camps or Family Camp.

  • The bus will return between 12:00 - 12:30 PM on the closing day of camp.

How likely is it my kid will get off the waitlist?

Unfortunately, that's not something we can really know. But we want to get every kid a spot at camp, so we will contact you if a spot does open up. We would also love to help you find a spot in another week if possible.

Can my child bring a cell phone, tablet, or other device?

Camp is for playing outdoors and making new friends! We do not allow cell phones or other electronic devices such as iPads, handheld games, or other devices. If you send a device with your child, it will be held in the camp office until checkout.

Campers do have access to a phone to call home.  Please make sure your child knows the best phone number to use and that it is on their registration so we can help them if needed.

What does a day look like for campers?

It totally depends on the camp! With such a wide variety of ages and themes, each camp looks different. The list below offers a general idea of what campers at Lakeside & Wagon Trail will experience but we stay flexible based on the camper group and the weather! Please understand that not every activity is offered every day or to every age group.

  • Activities like canoeing, swimming, archery, crafts, and nature hikes. Lakeside also offers mountain boarding, climbing tower, and riflery. Wagon Train has horsemanship lessons each day.

  • Chapel with songs and Bible teaching

  • Rest time/quiet time

  • Cabin Group Bible study

  • Snackshop

  • Group Games

  • Campfire Time

  • Free time where campers can choose what games or activities to engage in, or just play and explore with their friends.
